Jackson County Human Resource Subcommittee met June 30.

Here is the minutes provided by the Subcommittee:

Call to Order (5:00 PM)

Members Present: Erbes and S. Bost

Members Absent: Endres

Also Present: Susie Kilquist

Approval of Minutes

I. 18-3535 June 25, 2017 Minutes

A motion was made by Erbes, seconded by S. Bost, to approve the June 25, 2018 minutes as presented. The motion carried by unanimous vote.

Old Business

II. 18-3536 Compensatory Time Policy The committee reviewed the memo provided by the Accounting Coordinator on employee compensatory time. They looked at the comp time payouts for each employee over the last four years, the amount of meetings and the current amount of time of each employee. A motion was made by Erbes, seconded by S. Bost, to forward the compensatory time information to the Executive Committee. The motion carried by unanimous vote. I

II. 18-3537 Employee Exempt Status The committee reviewed the questionaire provided by the State's Attorney's Office that is designed to assist in figuring out which employees are exempt or non-exempt. The consensus of the committee is to request a legal opinion from the State's Attorney's Office for each County Board supervised staff on whether they are exempt or non-exempt. The committee asked that the legal opinion be forwarded to the Executive Committee as soon as it is received and then have the committee reevaluate the staff job descriptions.

IV. 18-3538 Affirmative Action Plan The State's Attorney's Office is reaching out to Mr. Huffman to see if he is interested in completing an Affirmative Action Plan for the County. The committee would like a response by the August meeting.

Erbes moved and SBost seconded to adjourn, motion carried.
