Carbondale Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
The Jackson County Health Department is pleased to announce it will be open Monday through
Friday starting July 2nd. Since the State budget impasse was over-ridden in July 2017, the agency
under the direction of the Jackson County Board of Health has earned state funding, support from
the Jackson County Board and expanded grants from non-governmental sources so that the
department is on solid financial footing and can return to a 5 day per week schedule. The regular
schedule for all divisions will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Starting Tuesday, July 10th, the front building nursing clinic and WIC program will offer services
until 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
The health department remains committed to protecting your health by providing services to
prevent infectious and chronic disease, and working with the community to prepare and respond to
public health emergencies.
