In-state tuition and fees rose 8 percent for 2017-18 at John A Logan College, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois residents paid $5,506 to attend the two-year public institution this year $406 more than the $5,100 charged for 2016-17.

Non-residents paid 10.9 percent more than residents this year, or $6,106. Their price tag grew 2.8 percent from $5,940 in 2016-17.

About 98 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Illinois residents. And about 2 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 73 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 341 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.71 million and 24 students took out student loans totaling more than $152,280.

Including all undergraduates, 1,609 students used grants or scholarships totaling $6.99 million.

The following data includes only full-time students who began an undergraduate program at the John A Logan College in 2015-16.
