HERRIN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Southern Illinois Opry to be held May 19

Herrin Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.

What began as a simple radio broadcast in 1925 is today a live-entertainment phenomenon in Nashville Tennessee. Dedicated to honoring country music’s rich history and dynamic present, the Grand Ole Opry showcases a mix of country legends and the contemporary chart-toppers who have followed in their footsteps.

In the image of that grand icon, The Southern Illinois Opry was born. Our events will feature local talent from all over Southern Illinois. We will also feature top International Recording Artists from Nashville and around the world. All of our shows will be hosted by the Herrin Civic Center and will include Bluegrass, Gospel, and Country Artists.

The third Saturday of the month.

Doors open at 6 PM.

Show Starts: 7:30-9:30pm

Tickets for the Opry are $15 and available at the Herrin Civic Center, The Pawn Mart in Herrin, Online at siopry.com or at the door the night of the event. Food, refreshments, and cocktails from the bar will be available.
