Carbondale Community High School District 165 Board of Education met Jan. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

President Woodard declared a quorum present and the regular meeting of January 18, 2018, was called to order.

Member Answers Roll Call: Member Tsung answered roll call at 7:02 p.m.

Approval of Minutes: Motion by Booziotis, seconded by Flowers, to approve the minutes of the regular scheduled meeting of December 14, 2017. Roll call: Booziotis, Flowers, Swims, Tsung, VanWinkle and Woodard voted yes. Nay, none. Motion carried.

Old Business: None

Public Comments: None

Payment of Bills: Motion by Flowers, seconded by Swims, to pay the remaining bills for the month of December 2017; and, those available for payment for the month of January 2018. Roll call: Flowers, Swims, Tsung, VanWinkle, Woodard and Booziotis voted yes. Nay, none. Motion carried.

Approval of "Love Your Heart" Free Personal Leave Day Drawing: Motion by Booziotis, seconded by Swims, to approve a free personal leave day (as a drawing) in the annual promotion of faculty and staff participation in good heart practices by getting a blood pressure check (to qualify for the drawing) during "Love Your Heart Week" in February. Roll call: Swims, Tsung, VanWinkle, Woodard, Booziotis and Flowers voted yes. Nay, none. Motion carried.

Permission to Bid Yearbook Photography Services: Motion by Tsung, seconded by Booziotis, to solicit bids for yearbook photography services as presented. Roll call: Tsung, VanWinkle, Woodard, Booziotis, Flowers and Swims voted yes. Nay, none. Motion carried.

Board Policy Manual Updates: Updates: 2:260, 4:15, 4:170, 5:100, 5:200, 5:240, 5:290, 6:50, 6:60, 6:150, 6:310 and 7:70—Second Reading: Motion by Flowers, seconded by Swims, to approve the Board Policy Manual Updates: 2:260, 4:15, 4:170, 5:100, 5:200, 5:240, 5:290, 6:50, 6:60, 6:150, 6:310 and 7:70 as presented. Roll call: VanWinkle, Woodard, Booziotis, Flowers, Swims and Tsung voted yes. Nay, none. Motion carried. First reading of the updates occurred at the December 14, 2017 Board meeting.

FOIA Requests: July 1, 2017- January 9, 2018: The Board received the list of FOIA Requests: July 1, 2017-January 9, 2018 for their review.

Resignation: Motion by Flowers, seconded by Swims, to accept the resignation of Daniel Booth (Principal) effective June 30, 2018 as presented. Roll call: Woodard, Booziotis, Flowers, Swims, Tsung and VanWinkle voted yes. Nay, none. Motion carried.

Employment of 2017-18 Personnel: None

2017-18 Volunteers: None

Executive Session: Motion by Booziotis, seconded by Swims, to go into executive session for the purpose of considering information regarding the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1). Roll call: Booziotis, Flowers, Swims, Tsung, VanWinkle and Woodard voted yes. Nay, none. Motion carried.The executive session convened at 7:25 p.m. The executive session adjourned at 8:55 p.m. President Woodard stated no action was taken while in executive session.

Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 8:56 p.m.
