The calls in Herrin included 49 fires - 28 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 15 other fires.
In all, the department saw $64 in fire loss - or about $1 per fire.
The department also received 85 false calls, including three malicious calls and 82 other false calls.
One fire service member was injured in fire-related incidents.
The Herrin Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 13 active employees and nine retired or inactive employees, was $551,379 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $11,253 for every fire in 2016.
