Rep. Dave Severin recognizes U.S. Coast Guard’s birthday and service

Each year on August 4, the United States marks the anniversary of the U.S. Coast Guard, which is one of the country's five armed services. The Coast Guard has responsibilities that include protecting Illinois’ shores, enforcing maritime law, and responding to accidents and disasters.

Illinois State Representative Dave Severin (R-Marion) acknowledged the work of Coast Guard personnel. "Thank you to the men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard for your service and sacrifice," Severin said.

Severin was elected as a Republican to represent Illinois' 116th House District in 2023, succeeding David Friess.
