Unity Point Community Consolidated School District 140 Board met June 8.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The regular meeting of the Unity Point Board of Education was called to order at 6:02 p.m. by the president, D.W. Presley, with the following members present: John Longueville, D.W. Presley, Sylvia Thoms, and Tom Upton. Others present were Bill Laser, Kerry Glenn, Christy Cross, Chris Midden, Adie Smith, Sadie McGrew and Jessica Edmond.

Sylvia Thoms made the motion, seconded by Tom Upton to approve the Agenda. Motion carried 4-0 with all voting yea.

Sylvia Thoms made the motion, seconded by D. W. Presley to approve the Consent Agenda and minutes of the May 11, 2017, regular meeting, copy attached. Motion carried 4-0 with all voting yea.

Sylvia Thoms made the motion, seconded by D.W. Presley to approve the bills as presented. Motion carried 4-0 with all voting yea.

Correspondence received included a letter of resignation from Rebecca Borowitz as assistant softball coach; a letter of resignation from Elizabeth Davidson as pre-k teacher aide; a letter of resignation from Heather Hannon as pre-k teacher aide; a salary schedule step and coursework request from Christopher Midden; an application for non-resident pupils of full-time employees from Heidi Castlebery; and a request for maternity leave from Emily Rosenow.

Sylvia Thoms made the motion, seconded by Tom Upton to accept the letter of resignation from Rebecca Borowitz as assistant softball coach; to accept the letter of resignation from Elizabeth Davidson as a pre-k teacher aide; to accept the letter of resignation from Heather Hannon as a pre-k teacher aide; to approve the salary schedule step request from Christopher Midden for the 2017-18 school year; to accept the request for non-resident pupil attendance from Heidi Castlebery; and to approve the request for maternity leave from Emily Rosenow. Motion carried 4-0 with all voting yea
