Approval of Minutes

A motion was made by Erbes, seconded by Chapman, to approve the June 28, 2016 Minutes as presented. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
II. 16-0513 CIRMA Handbook Review
The subcommittee discussed some of the edits they would like to make. One suggestion from Ms. Hunter is to edit the section on work attire. The current draft specifically states that sleeves must be worn at all times and her suggestion is to edit that to make it more fair to everyone. Ms. Link-Mullison suggested looking at the Health Departments policy that is a more general policy that refers to dress as being appropriate and professional attire based on an employee's position. Additoinally, Ms. Link-Mullison would like the subcommittee to specifically exclude the Jackson County Health Department from being bound by this policy. She went on to explain that the Health Department has some specific policies that apply only to them and that refers to dress as being appropriate and professional attire based on an employee's position. Additionally Ms. Link-Mullison would like the subcommittee to specifically exclude the Jackson County Health Department from being bound by this policy. She went on to explain that the Health Department has some specific policies that apply only to them and that their current policy is updated often to include new regulations and best practices. The subcommittee agreed and asked the Committee Coordinator to add in Jackson County Health Department to the section at the beginning that already states that this policy only applies to County Board Supervised staff. Mr. Brenner stated that he has made some notes with things for the committee to consider when making their revision of the policy. He will forward those to the Committee Coordinator to put in the next draft. Additionally, Mr. Brenner mentioned that consideration should be given to the Ambulance and Highway departments since they are under County Board control but both departments already have their own policies that have some sections that specifically apply to their departments. The Committee Coordinator will email out the current draft to all departments requesting any suggested changes be sent by July 22nd and then the edited draft will be sent to Ms. Rogers at CIRMA by July 28th.
