Southern Illinois Salukis Men's Cross Country | Southern Illinois University Athletics

Southern Illinois University's cross country teams are set to compete in the Angel Mounds Invitational in Evansville, Indiana, this Friday. The event serves as both a regular season meet and a preview of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championship course, which will be held later in the month at the same location.

The men's team will begin the day with an 8K race at 9 a.m., followed by the women's 6K race at 9:50 a.m. The Saluki men's roster for the meet includes Ben Chance, Parker Davidson, Brady Faulkner, Will Foltz, Calen George, Weston Jokerst, Kyle Kato, and Drew Twyman. The women's team features Ellary Blakey, Audrey Boles, Brodie Denny, Savanna Franzen, Riley Linville, Hannah Meiser, and Allyson Niedfeldt.

The invitational is expected to draw a large regional field, with programs such as Austin Peay, Bellarmine, Brescia, Central State, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Indianapolis, Lipscomb, Morehead State, Northern Kentucky, Rose-Hulman, Southeast Missouri, SIUE, Southern Indiana, Tennessee Tech, Transylvania, UT Martin, Vincennes, Western Kentucky, and others scheduled to participate.

Following this meet, Southern Illinois University will return to Angel Mounds for the MVC Championships on October 31. After the conference championship, the team will look to see which athletes qualify for the NCAA Midwest Regional in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
