State Senator Terri Bryant and State Representative Dave Severin will hold a free Senior Citizens Health Fair on Wednesday, August 13, at the Rolland Lewis Building in Mt. Vernon. The event is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Representative Severin said the fair will feature several local health care and senior services vendors who will provide free health screenings and information about available services.

“This free senior citizens health and wellness fair is an opportunity for local seniors to connect with vendors and senior services and to meet with their legislators face to face,” Rep. Severin said. “I’m happy to join with Senator Bryant to continue to connect with seniors in our district, let them know their legislators are working for them, and to provide them with free health screenings and important information.”

Senator Bryant encouraged area seniors to attend the event and take advantage of the offerings.

“We look forward to the Mt. Vernon Senior Fair every year. The event gets bigger each time we host it, and that’s a positive thing for the community and our seniors,” Bryant said. “Door prizes will be awarded to attendees from the various health care and senior service vendors in attendance. Free pastries, fruit, juice, and coffee refreshments will also be provided. We’re looking forward to a big crowd and a great event.”

For more details about the fair, residents can visit RepSeverin.com or contact Representative Severin at (618) 440-5090; they may also visit SenatorBryant.com or call (618) 684-1100.

Severin has represented Illinois' 116th House District since being elected in 2023 as a Republican, succeeding David Friess.
