Southern Illinois University (SIU) head coach Nick Hill has announced the addition of 10 transfer players to the Salukis' roster for the upcoming 2025 season. The team will also see the return of wide receiver Vinson Davis III.

The new transfers include one player from an FBS school, six from FCS programs, two junior college athletes, and one Division II player. Davis, who had entered the transfer portal after the 2024 season, has decided to remain with SIU. Over the past two seasons, he recorded 92 receptions for 1,041 yards and five touchdowns. In 2023, he was named an honorable mention All-MVFC selection after leading the Salukis with 54 catches.

Season tickets for SIU's games are currently available starting at $60.

The incoming transfers bring a variety of experience and accolades to the team:

- Noah Friedt is a senior defensive tackle transferring from St. Thomas. During his time there, he played in 26 games over four seasons and achieved notable statistics including 51 tackles and nine sacks.

- Ethan Goodin is a redshirt freshman offensive lineman coming from Austin Peay. He played in one game last year before redshirting.

- Kaden Lewis joins as a redshirt freshman defensive tackle from Ohio Dominican where he appeared in one game last season.

- Fabian McCray is a senior wide receiver transferring from Jackson State. He played three games in 2024 due to injuries but was previously on the HBCU+ Player of the Year Watch List.

- Camron Miller is a sophomore defensive end arriving from Fresno City College after playing six games last year.

- Tucker Murphy is a junior safety coming from Palomar College where he recorded significant stats across ten games in 2024.

- Antonio Ross Jr., another redshirt freshman offensive lineman, arrives from Jackson State having redshirted last year.

- Joshua Tillman is joining as a redshirt freshman defensive back from Northern Illinois where he also redshirted last year.

- Charlie Whelpley is a linebacker transferring as a redshirt freshman from Iowa State where he did not play last season.

- DB Jagger Williams comes as a senior defensive back from Utah Tech with extensive playing experience over four years totaling more than 100 tackles.

These additions are expected to bolster SIU's lineup ahead of their next campaign under Coach Hill's leadership.
