The Southern Illinois Track and Field team concluded its regular season at the Jim Green Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky. Despite challenging weather conditions, Director of Track and Field Richard Jones noted, "The weather wasn't in our favor this weekend, but the athletes were able to preserve and still do some good things amongst some top Power 5 programs."

In track events, Shane Ashton achieved a first-place finish in the 400M hurdles, setting a season-best time of 51.90 seconds. Christian Coleman secured second place in the 110M hurdles with a time of 14.35 seconds, having recorded a personal best of 14.21 seconds in the quals. Jumps coach Jacob Brydson commented on Coleman's performance, "Expected because he's been hurdling at a high level these past few weeks and his practices show he's ready to run times competitively for conference medals and regional spots."

The men's 4x400M relay team, including Shane Ashton, Xavier Preston, Josh Delgado, and Andre Jackson II, took second place. Andre Jackson also earned a third-place finish in the 400M dash.

On the field, Darrione Williams won the long jump with a 7.43M leap. Brydson praised Williams, "He's been sick for a few days, which makes the marks from this weekend even more impressive." In the triple jump, Darius Fuller claimed victory, while Adrian Przestrzelski finished third.

Other notable personal bests include Leah Thames in the 200M dash, Teanna Bell in the 200M dash, and Dallas Hodge in hammer throw. The Salukis are now preparing for the MVC Championship on May 17 and 18, hosted by Southern Illinois.
