According to an Illinois State Board of Education report, this district has invested approximately $19,142 per student yearly, among other educational statistics.

On April 17, Murphysboro High School tweeted to announce the achievement of one of its students: "Congratulations Bryce Edward’s on signing with Quincy University Wrestling!" This represents a significant accomplishment for student Bryce Edward's athletic and academic career.

Following a day later on April 18, another message announced: "Congratulations Madison Stanton on signing with SIU Salukis Cheerleading!" Madison Stanton’s signing marks another success story from Murphysboro High School.

In another tweet from the same day, Murphysboro High School reminded students of a promotional event: "MHS Prom shirts are on sale now through 4/24. Here is the link: https://t.co/eFaIGcKRQm" This gives students an opportunity to acquire themed apparel ahead of their prom event.
