Southern Illinois University's Track and Field team is scheduled to participate in their third outdoor meet of 2025. They will compete at the Cougar Classic on Saturday, April 12, beginning at 10 a.m. This event replaces the Bill Cornell Spring Invitational, which was canceled due to inclement weather.
The Salukis will face 16 other teams, including the host team, SIU Edwardsville. The competition includes teams such as Valley rival Evansville, Missouri, Saint Louis, SEMO, Lindenwood, Principia, Southern Indiana, Central Methodist (Mo.), Harris-Stowe State (Mo.), Illinois-Springfield, Judson (Ill.), Mineral Area (Mo.), Missouri Baptist, Oakland City (Ind.), and the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
The one-day Cougar Classic will kick off with the women's hammer throw at 10 a.m., and track events, starting with the women's 3000m steeplechase, will commence at noon.
