Southern Illinois University's Women's Golf team is set to compete in College Park, Maryland this weekend. The event marks the team's final tournament before they head into the Missouri Valley Conference Championship. The golfers will face a challenging course with 36 holes scheduled for Sunday and an additional 18 on Monday.

The team from Southern Illinois will compete against teams including Delaware, Georgetown, Harvard, High Point, Howard, James Madison, Maryland, Michigan, Navy, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Richmond. These matches will take place at the University of Maryland Golf Course, recognized for its par-72 rating and 6,244-yard length.

Last weekend, the Salukis concluded the Coach Mo Classic with a 16th-place finish. Team members Pihla Pennanen and Kayla Sayyalinh have consistently performed well, completing each of the rounds in that event with scores under 80. They will be supported by teammates Ella Overstreet, Allie Santos, and Calli Smith in Maryland.

The weather forecast for Sunday anticipates a high of 69 degrees with cloudy skies and possible rain in the afternoon. Monday is expected to be cooler, with 49 degrees and morning showers followed by clouds in the afternoon. Participants can follow the event through Live Scoring updates.

Updates on the team's progress can be found on X, Facebook, and Instagram under their respective handles.
