The Southern Illinois University men's golf team is set to participate in the Hoosier Collegiate in Bloomington, Indiana, on April 5. The Salukis are scheduled to play 36 holes on Saturday followed by 18 holes on Sunday.
The team will compete with five members and one individual golfer. Representing SIU will be Anthony De Schutter, Oliver Ulrich, Carsen Silliman, Leon Heitz, Frank Bellino, along with individual golfer Cy Norman.
They will face competitors from 12 teams including host Indiana, along with Butler, Chattanooga, DePaul, IU Indy, Michigan, Northwestern, Purdue Fort Wayne, Tennessee Tech, VCU, and Missouri Valley Conference rivals Murray State, Evansville, and Valparaiso.
The tournament will take place at The Pfau Course, featuring a length of 7,355 yards and a par of 71. The course was designed by architect Steve Smyers and two-time major winner Fuzzy Zoeller, and has hosted multiple Big Ten Championships as well as national amateur and professional championships.
The Salukis' arrival at the Hoosier Collegiate comes after a 10th-place finish at The Duck Invitational where Anthony De Schutter tied for eighth place.
Weather forecasts suggest the possibility of showers and thunderstorms during the tournament.
Live scoring will be available for the duration of the event.
