Murphysboro High School recently recognized standout players from their girls' basketball team for their exceptional performances. On March 28, 2025, the school published a series of congratulatory messages on its official social media account, highlighting the achievements of three players.

On March 28, 2025, Murphysboro High School announced, "Congrats Hannah Rice ~ Girls Basketball Defensive Player of the Year!" This honor was bestowed upon Rice for her outstanding contributions on the defensive end of the court throughout the season.

Libby Horstmann was named the "Girls Basketball Offensive Player of the Year," according to a congratulatory post from Murphysboro High School on the same date. Horstmann's impressive offensive play earned her this recognition.

Mekia Lewis received the "Girls Basketball Hustle Award," as highlighted in another post from Murphysboro High School on March 28, 2025. Lewis was recognized for her dedication and effort during games, contributing significantly to her team's success.
