Murphysboro HS celebrates basketball and soccer achievements in March 2025

Murphysboro High School recently shared a series of announcements concerning accomplishments from the institution’s basketball programs and a notable achievement from their girls' soccer team.

On March 27, 2025, Murphysboro High School recognized Cade Brooks for his achievements in basketball. Brooks was named Team MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, and was included in the SIRR All-Conference and SICA All-South teams. Additionally, he surpassed 1,000 career points and ranks second in made 3-point field goals. Next year, Brooks will attend Illinois College. Shortly after, on the same day, Murphysboro High School congratulated AJ Boese for his contributions to the basketball team. Boese was also named Team MVP, earned the title Defensive Player of the Year, and was recognized as part of the SIRR All-Conference. He will continue his academic and athletic career at Illinois Central College. "Congrats AJ Boese!!! 2024-25 Basketball Awards & Accomplishments: Team MVP Defensive POY SIRR All-Conference College: Illinois Central College"

On March 28, 2025, Murphysboro High School highlighted the victory of the Red Devils Girls Soccer team, who defeated Carbondale 1-0. This win notably positioned the Red Devils in the lead for the Jackson County Braggin Rights Challenge with a score of 4-3. "Red Devils Girls Soccer not only defeat Carbondale, 1-0...but thanks to the Win, the Devils take the lead in the Jackson County Braggin Rights Challenge (4-3)!"
