Southern Illinois University's women's golf team is set to participate in the Notre Dame Clover Cup at Wigwam Golf Course in Litchfield Park, Arizona. The tournament spans three days, with each team playing 18 holes daily.
Joining Southern Illinois will be teams from Arizona State, Clemson, Colorado State, Indiana, Kennesaw State, Northern Illinois, host Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Toledo, UNC-Wilmington, and UTSA.
The competition will take place on Wigwam's blue course, which features a par-70 layout and a total yardage of 5,860 yards.
Previously, the Salukis secured an eleventh-place finish at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate event. Their standout performance was during the first round when they scored 323.
Representing Southern Illinois are golfers Morgan Gindler, Pihla Pennanen, Allie Santos, Kayla Sayyalinh and Kylee Vaughan.
Weather forecasts for Monday predict sunny skies with temperatures reaching 82 degrees and winds between five to ten miles per hour. Tuesday is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 76 degrees and winds ranging from ten to twenty miles per hour. Wednesday's final round anticipates mostly cloudy conditions with temperatures around 69 degrees and winds between five to ten miles per hour.
