The Southern Illinois University (SIU) women's swim and dive team is preparing to compete in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships, which will take place from February 26 to March 1. The event is hosted by the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) in Waukee, Iowa.

The championship schedule includes preliminary rounds at 10:30 a.m. and final rounds at 6 p.m. each day from Wednesday through Saturday. Competing teams include Evansville, Illinois State, Indiana State, Little Rock, Missouri State, UIC, UNI, and Valparaiso. Fans can follow live results on the Meet Mobile App and watch events on YouTube via UNIAthleticsPanthers.

In their last competition on February 1 against Vanderbilt, SIU's women's team secured a victory with a score of 154-108. Out of the day's 14 events, SIU athletes claimed 26 podium spots. Olivia Herron stood out by meeting NCAA "B" standards three times and setting new program and MVC records in both the 100-yard breaststroke and the 400-yard individual medley (IM). Celia Pulido also met "B" standards twice during this meet.

Herron's performance earned her recognition as the MVC Women's Swimmer of the Week for her achievements against Vanderbilt. This marks her second consecutive title as Swimmer of the Week and her third time receiving this honor in the current season. Herron also placed first in two other events: the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard breaststroke.
