On February 12, 2025, Murphysboro High School announced that the Red Devils achieved their 21st victory of the year by defeating the Carbondale Terriers with a score of "49-40".
Later that night, Murphysboro High School celebrated another success for their boys' basketball team in a post that read: "Great Night for the Red Devils Boys Basketball Team as they defeat the Carbondale Terriers, 49-40!".
In another tweet posted on February 12, 2025, it was reported that the Red Devil Girls Basketball team defeated Pope County's Lady Pirates. Shameria Joshua-Ayers notably scored "31pts" in this game.
