Southern Illinois assistant coach Jevon Mamon has been invited to the Silver Waves Media Power Lunch, according to an announcement made by the organization. The event is scheduled for April 3, 2025, in San Antonio during the Final Four. A total of 75 coaches, recognized as elite assistants nationwide, have been selected to attend.

Mamon is currently in his sixth season with the Salukis. Under his guidance, Southern Illinois University (SIU) has achieved 98 wins and secured victories over four Power 6 programs. The team excelled in defense during the 2019-20 season, leading the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) and ranking among the top 15 nationally in scoring defense.

Before joining SIU, Mamon was director of operations at Loyola University Chicago during their Final Four run. Loyola set a school record with 32 wins in the 2017-18 season and won both the MVC regular season and tournament titles.

Mamon's coaching career includes serving as head varsity coach at Hyde Park Academy in Chicago and Richards High School, where he led teams to significant successes including a conference championship. His first head coaching role was at Perspectives Academy in Chicago, where he also served as dean of students.

A former student-athlete at Barat College and captain of its men's basketball team, Mamon holds a master's degree from North Park University.

Silver Waves Media was established in 2020 by Ryan Silver with a mission to support sports professionals and athletes in advancing their careers. The organization aims to highlight success within the sports community.

The Salukis are set to play against Bradley on Wednesday.
