Another week has concluded for Saluki athletics, featuring performances from basketball teams and swim and dive, with upcoming seasons for spring sports.
The men's basketball team recorded one win and one loss in their recent conference games. They secured a victory against Valparaiso, overcoming an eight-point deficit to win 79-75. Kennard Davis Jr. led the scoring with 19 points. In their game against Drake, despite strong performances from Davis and Ali Dibba, who scored 22 and 20 points respectively, they lost 75-65.
The women's basketball team faced two defeats last week. Against Illinois State, Kayla Cooper achieved a career-high of 21 points while Gift Uchenna posted a double-double. In their game against Bradley, Uchenna again delivered a double-double performance.
In track and field, the team will compete at the Missouri Invite on February 7th.
The women's swim and dive team excelled in their final dual meet of the season against Vanderbilt with Olivia Herron breaking conference records. The men's and women's teams are preparing for the MVC Championships later this month.
Softball begins its season at the Auburn Tournament with several matches scheduled over the weekend.
Women's golf also starts its season at the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate in Florida starting February 9th.
