On January 31, 2025, the Murphysboro High School "Crimson Express" Color Guard performed alongside youth members at halftime during the Red Devils Boys Basketball game against Massac County. The school shared this event through a tweet stating: "MHS 'Crimson Express' Color Guard and the youth perform at halftime of the Red Devils Boys Basketball game vs. Massac County on 1/31/25".

In another update posted shortly after midnight on February 1, Murphysboro celebrated a victory over Massac County with a score of 54-43. This win was notable for player Cade Brooks reaching a milestone of 1,000 career points. The tweet highlighted these achievements: "Murphysboro (18-3, 4-1) defeats Massac County, 54-43.
