Southern Illinois University's Jackie Lis has received recognition as the nation's second-best shortstop by D1Softball. The announcement was made on Wednesday morning, positioning Lis just behind Isa Torres from Florida State in the rankings.
Earlier this week, Lis achieved another milestone by being ranked No. 51 in D1Softball's Preseason D100 Player Rankings, making her the highest-ranked player within the Missouri Valley Conference.
In 2024, Lis became a notable figure for Southern Illinois as she was the first Saluki to be included in the D1Softball Preseason D100 Player Rankings, securing the No. 92 spot during her sophomore year.
Throughout two seasons with Southern Illinois, Lis has maintained a career batting average of .350 and accumulated 117 hits, 33 home runs, 93 RBI, and scored 107 runs with a slugging percentage of .722.
Lis has also been recognized by Softball America with a ranking of No. 69.
