Southern Illinois University (SIU) is set to face Missouri State in a basketball matchup at the Banterra Center in Carbondale on Saturday. The game, which starts at 6 p.m. CT, marks the beginning of a back-to-back series with the Bears. SIU will travel to Missouri State next Wednesday to conclude the season series.

The event will feature a "Samaritan's Feet Game," where Coach Nagy will coach barefoot to raise awareness for shoe distribution needs globally and locally. Supporters can contribute through an online donation or by bringing new children's shoes to the game for local children in need.

Fans can purchase $10 tickets in Section 113 using the promo code FAMILY as part of recognizing area faith organizations, including FCA. There are no additional ticket fees this season, and Studio 84 will perform at halftime.

The ESPN Plus broadcast team includes Mike Trude and Saluki Hall of Famer Jamaal Tatum. Local radio broadcasts are available on 101.5 CIL-FM and other platforms with Luke Martin and Rodney Watson providing commentary.

SIU enters the game with a 5-11 overall record and is seeking its first MVC win after a close loss to Belmont. Ali Dibba leads SIU with an average of 15.1 points per game, followed by Kennard Davis Jr., who also excels defensively with notable steals this season.

Missouri State arrives with a 7-9 overall record and seeks its first MVC victory as well. The Bears have struggled recently but have strong performers like Dez White and Vincent Bradley II leading their scoring efforts.

Historically, Southern Illinois holds an advantage over Missouri State with a series lead dating back to 1957.

Coach Nagy brings extensive experience to SIU, ranking No. 17 among active Division I head coaches in career wins.
