Recognition of Guests and Visitors/Public Comment

*The Board of Education welcomes the audience to make public or employee comments. The Board has set aside time in the agenda specifically for this purpose. Pursuant to Board Policy 2.230, each speaker shall be limited to a 5-minute presentation. Please be aware that, while this is the time for the public to express its opinions and/or concerns, the Board may or may not comment regarding public presentations. If a matter of public comment warrants discussion or action of the Board of Education, such discussion or action will be added to the agenda for a future meeting.

Passage of Levy and PTELL Resolution

*The preliminary tax levy was presented at the November board meeting. The district needs to levy taxes in the amount of $2,409,479 not including the bond and interest levy assessed by the County Clerk estimated to be $105,250 for a total 2024 levy of $2,514,729. The district is not required to hold a Truth in Taxation hearing in December since the amount of taxes levied for 2024 does not exceed the taxes extended for 2023 by more than 5%.

Approval of Resolution to Abate General Obligation School Bonds

*The Administration recommends approving the resolution to abate General Obligation School Bond (Alternate Revenue Source), Series for the 2024 levy year. The debt payments for these bonds are to be paid from facility sales tax revenue rather than tax levy proceeds. Mrs. Brown will provide more information if needed.

Presentation of Triple I Conference Participation

*Amanda Pangrazio will provide a review of the sessions attended during the Triple I Conference and any lessons learned that may be beneficial for the District.

Presentation of the Second Reading of PRESS Policies Update—Issue 117

*The October 2024, Issue 117 of PRESS Plus, was presented for Board consideration at the November 13, 2024 board meeting. The policy updates have been available for review since that time. If the Board agrees with the suggested updates, the administration recommends the approval of the PRESS Policy updates as presented.

Presentation of the First Reading of Board Policy 6:120.1-Recording of IEP Meetings

*To align our special education policies within the Tri-County Joint Agreement, the administration recommends reviewing Policy 6:120.1, with approval expected at the January 2025 board meeting.

Vision 2030 Initiative and Approval of Resolution in Support of Illinois Vision 2030

*The Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA) has continued the visioning process that began with Vision 20/20 in 2012. This initiative aims to unite the education community and create an updated long-range plan for improving public education in Illinois. The Vision 2030 Executive Summary, Policy Brief, and Board Resolution supporting the Vision 2030 initiative are posted for your review. Dr. James-Gross will provide additional details during the meeting. For more information please view www.IllinoisVision2030.com.

*Per Board approval in August to hire remaining staff as needed for the current school year, the administration recommends the official employment of the following individual(s) effective immediately:
