The Saluki Men's Basketball team is hosting a dinner event before the Gulf Coast Showcase in Florida this November. Coach Scott Nagy and the team will be at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort in Bonita Springs, Florida, on Saturday, November 23. Tickets are priced at $100 for members of the Pride of Little Egypt and $150 for non-members.

The Pride of Little Egypt is an initiative supporting student-athletes across all 17 athletic programs at Southern Illinois University (SIU). Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the men's basketball team through this collective.

"Events like this allow our coaches and players to engage with our fans in an intimate setting," stated Tim Leonard, Director of Athletics. "This is a tremendous opportunity to hear from Coach Nagy and meet the young men who will represent SIU on the basketball court. It is going to be a unique, exciting experience."

The Saluki Men's Basketball season begins on Monday, November 4, against the College of Charleston in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The early-season schedule includes games against Missouri S&T, Oklahoma State, North Dakota State, and Florida.

"We are hitting the road against some major opponents right off the bat," Leonard mentioned. "By the time we get to the Gulf Coast Showcase, this team is going to be battle tested."

The Gulf Coast Showcase starts on Monday, November 25, at Hertz Arena in Estero, Florida. SIU's opponents have not been announced yet.
