The Southern Illinois University (SIU) Alumni Association is organizing a pre-game event at the Burntwood Tavern in Gulf Coast Town Center, Fort Myers, Florida. The gathering will commence at noon on Monday, November 25. This event is intended for alumni and Saluki fans to unite before the men's basketball team faces Louisiana Tech in the Gulf Coast Showcase at Hertz Arena in Estero.
Appetizers will be provided by the association as part of the festivities aimed at sharing Saluki pride. Attendees will have the opportunity to socialize with fellow alumni, network with association staff members, and get updates on developments at SIU. A $10 cover charge applies for this event, with some proceeds directed towards supporting association scholarships.
Tickets for SIU games need to be purchased separately. Those attending are advised to select seats in Section 111, reserved for SIU supporters. Parking at Hertz Arena costs $15 and is cashless.
The basketball game schedule includes matches on Monday, November 25, at 3 p.m. ET; Tuesday, November 26, at 12 p.m. ET; and Wednesday, November 27, at 3 p.m. ET.
