Eight Salukis earn spots on Academic All-MAC swimming and diving team

The Mid-American Conference (MAC) has recognized eight athletes from Southern Illinois University by naming them to the 2023-24 Men's Swimming and Diving Academic All-MAC team. The announcement was made on Wednesday morning.

The honored student-athletes include Alex Cimera and Tiago Faleiros, both achieving a perfect GPA of 4.0. They are joined by Donut Csuvarski, Ian Marshall, and Ben Rutledge with GPAs of 3.7 each. Will Chavez follows with a GPA of 3.6, Trey Smith at 3.5, and Jered Moore at 3.25.

To qualify for this recognition, student-athletes must have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20 and participated in at least half of the team's contests during the season.

While Southern Illinois had eight honorees, the Miami Redhawks led the conference with eighteen student-athletes named to the Academic All-MAC team.
