Olivia Anderson and Sophia Schlicklin from the Southern Illinois University women's soccer team have been recognized with Missouri Valley Conference All-Conference honors. The announcement was made on Wednesday.
Anderson has been named to the Third Team, while Schlicklin has earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team. This marks the first time both players have received these awards.
Throughout the season, Anderson participated in all 19 games, starting in 14 of them and accumulating a total of 954 minutes on the field. The junior ended the season tied for a team-high with 19 shots.
Schlicklin's All-Freshman recognition comes after she scored four goals, ranking her second on the team. Notably, she recorded two goals in a game against North Alabama, which was tied for second in the MVC.
Southern Illinois concluded its season with an overall record of 6-8-5 after making it to the MVC Tournament for only the second time in its history.
