The Southern Illinois University women's soccer team is set to travel to Chicago for a match against the University of Illinois-Chicago on Thursday, October 3, at 6 p.m.

Southern Illinois enters the game with a record of 5-2-4 following a recent victory over Murray State. Maycie Massingill scored her second goal of the season in that match. Seven players from Southern Illinois have scored this season, contributing to a total of 13 goals for the team. Goalkeeper Fabiana Solano ranks second in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) for goals allowed, having conceded nine so far. Solano and defender Lucy Horn have each played 990 minutes this season.

UIC comes into the match with a record of 3-7-1 and holds a conference record of 2-0-1 after defeating Belmont on September 29. Riley Collett leads UIC with three goals this season.

This will be the third encounter between Southern Illinois and UIC, with UIC leading the series after winning both previous matches by scores of 1-0.
