Dory Latenser and Fabiana Solano of the Southern Illinois University women's soccer team have been recognized with weekly awards from the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Freshman defender Dory Latenser was awarded MVC Defender of the Week. Latenser scored her first goal for the Salukis on Thursday, September 26, against Indiana State. Her goal tied the game at 1-1 in the 87th minute, leading to a draw against the Sycamores.

Fifth-year goalkeeper Fabiana Solano received the Goalkeeper of the Week honor from MVC. Solano has started and played in all 11 games this season and is ranked second in the MVC for goals allowed, with only nine conceded this year. On Sunday, September 29, Solano made 10 saves in a shutout victory over Murray State.

Both Latenser and Solano played the full 90 minutes in Sunday's match against Murray State.
