The Southern Illinois University men's golf team is set to compete in the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin, starting Sunday, September 29. The tournament will feature 17 teams, each playing 18 holes daily over three days.
Representing the Salukis are Anthony De Schutter, Frank Bellino, Leon Heitz, Luke Lasley, and Oliver Ulrich. The event will take place at the University Ridge Golf Course, a par-72 course spanning 7,286 yards. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., University Ridge has hosted the American Family Championship since 2016.
The Salukis aim to improve on their performance at the Purdue Fall Invitational where they tied for tenth with a score of 882 (+18). Heitz and Bellino showed resilience by finishing under par in the final two rounds after a slow start. They hope to maintain this momentum in Madison.
Oliver Ulrich enters the tournament following a top-10 finish at Purdue with a score of 215 (+2), including a final round of 70 (-1).
