State Representatives Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) and Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona), along with State Senator Dale Fowler (R-Harrisburg), have reported another successful senior citizens health and wellness fair. The event, held earlier this week at The Hub in Marion, saw attendance from over 150 local seniors and featured 60 healthcare and senior services vendors.

Windhorst expressed pride in offering the free fair to area seniors, enabling them to connect with various services and information available locally. "What I find every year is that seniors are finding resources to help them solve problems and gather information that they weren’t aware existed so close to them," Windhorst said. "That is a strong testament to the outstanding healthcare and senior care community that exists in southern Illinois, especially in some very rural areas. Southern Illinois loves our seniors, and this is one way we can help give back, provide them with services, and have a lot of fun at a free event. I look forward to this every year, and we will be back again in 2025."

Rep. Paul Jacobs, who is also a practicing optometrist, echoed Windhorst’s gratitude towards the vendors who participated. "We had Red Cross, Williamson County EMA, Marion Fire, Ameren, the State Comptroller and State Treasurer’s offices, folks from SMS Health and Deaconess Hospital, hospice care, elder care, long-term care, and everything in between serving seniors at the Marion Senior Fair," Jacobs said. "I am proud to serve Marion as State Representative, and proud to be a part of a medical community that prioritizes the health and wellness of our seniors. This is a great event that we will plan to do again next year!"
