Williamson County Board of Commissioners met August 28.

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 10:31 a.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:

Tim Atkisson, Commissioner

Jim Marlo, Commissioner

Jim Rasor, Commissioner

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, approving to grant variance on Lot 5 of Tate Subdivision. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

J. Mark Williams, resident of Williamson County, was present to voice concern over real estate tax increase.

ARPA claims from the following were presented for signatures; Zion UCC, Village of Freeman Spur and Southern Illinois Coalition for the Homeless.

Ashley Gott, Treasurer, discussed final payment for Baxter Construction in the amount of $150,000 will be made. Also, a request was made from the Treasurer that the board amend the resolution for taxes payment and penalty dates to remove fees.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor to move into Executive Session citing 5ILCS 120/2(c)(1). Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Meeting opened in regular session with the following present: Tim Atkisson, Jim Marlo and Jim Rasor.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor to adjourn meeting. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried
