The Southern Illinois University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Indiana State on Thursday in Terre Haute, Ind. The Salukis now hold a record of 4-2-4 for the season.

In the first half, Southern Illinois University had four shots and one corner kick. Riley Maulick had the team's first scoring opportunity in the 40th minute but was stopped by Indiana State's goalkeeper.

The second half saw little action until the 75th minute when Indiana State scored to take a 1-0 lead. The Salukis responded in the 87th minute with Dory Latenser scoring her first goal as a Saluki, assisted by fellow freshman Aylie Haycock.

Goalkeeper Fabiana Solano made eight saves and allowed one goal during her 10th consecutive start for Southern Illinois University.

"Happy we fought ourselves back into the game. It's such a battle on that field it's about taking your chances. Tonight will give us confidence and belief for the next conference battle," said head coach Graeme Orr.

The Salukis are set to host Murray State on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. for their Senior Day event.
