Southern Illinois volleyball team heads to Iowa for MVC weekend matches

Southern Illinois Women's Volleyball will travel to Iowa for its first full weekend of Missouri Valley Conference action this Friday. The Salukis are scheduled to play Northern Iowa on Friday and Drake on Saturday.

The schedule for the weekend is as follows:

- Friday: at UNI, 6 p.m., ESPN+, Live Stats

- Saturday: at Drake, 5 p.m., ESPN+, Live Stats

In their series history, Northern Iowa leads with 67 wins against Southern Illinois' 13, having won the last 15 matchups since September 23, 2016. Against Drake, the Salukis lead the all-time series 45-30 but have lost the last seven encounters. Their last victory over Drake was on November 2, 2019.

Several players have notable achievements going into this weekend:

- Anna Jaworski is fourth in school history with 3,419 assists and is one assist away from tying Rachel Brown (2009-12) for third place. She ranks tenth in the MVC with 271 assists in 2024.

- Avery Parris led a significant comeback win against SEMO on September 21 in Carbondale with a season-high of 17 kills.

- Larissa Seger is fourth in the MVC with a hitting percentage of .307 and also ranks fourth in total blocks (46) and blocks per set (0.92).

- Ema Stermenska ranks sixth in The Valley with a total of 17 aces.

- Cecilia Bulmahn is third in The Valley with 226 digs and seventh in digs per set (4.43).

- Eva Krakowski stands seventh in The Valley with a total of 40 blocks and fifth in blocks per set (0.98).

- Annabelle Sulish has recorded seven double-doubles in twelve games and ranks eighth in The Valley with a total of 163.5 points.
