Southern Illinois sweeps Idaho at Betty Howard Invitational

Southern Illinois Women's Volleyball swept Idaho in three sets Saturday at the Betty Howard Invitational hosted by Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Ala.

The Salukis fell behind early in the first set but took a 17-16 lead and never trailed for the remainder of the match.

Kelly Franklin led the team with 10 kills and six digs. Anna Jaworski and Annabelle Sulish contributed significantly from the service line, recording five and four aces respectively. Jaworski's five aces tied her career-high. Sulish added seven kills and six digs to her performance.

Vienna Elliott recorded six kills in two sets, including the final point to complete the sweep.

Southern Illinois will conclude their participation in the Betty Austin Invitational with a match against Oral Roberts on Sunday at 10 a.m. CT.
