Southern Illinois' Women's Volleyball team will commence their 2024 season with an exhibition match against Saint Louis on Saturday, August 24, in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Salukis are returning eight players from the 2023 team. Among them is senior setter Anna Jaworski, who ranks sixth in SIU history with 3,148 assists. Juniors Annabelle Sulish and Kelly Franklin will also return as outside hitters, along with versatile player Cecilia Bulmahn.
New additions to the team include middle blocker Larissa Seger, who ranked third in blocks per set (95 total) and recorded 143 kills at Santa Fe College in 2023. Another key newcomer is Pinckneyville native Jillian Shaneyfelt, an East Tennessee State transfer who earned an OVC Freshman of the Week award as a libero in 2023.
The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Chaifetz Pavilion.
