MOTION: Approve the issuance of not-for-profit Special Event Retailer's licenses to Carbondale Main Street contingent upon receipt of outstanding items

City Attorney Snyder provided background relating to this application, the application submitted for the business prior to this application, and impediments to issuing the license.
Councilmembers asked about the meaning of adequate rehabilitation, asked about the applicant in question, requested clarification on matters of ownership and application, what would be required of Ms. Bradley to allow the issuance of the liquor license, asked if the State would issue the liquor license if the City were to issue a license, requested details of an after-hours event over the past weekend, inquired about what additional information the City had requested from the applicant, asked about the impact of denying an application, requested clarification about the legal organization of the business, asked questions regarding the criteria for a private function or party, and discussed deferring action on the application to a date certain.
Applicant Arelia Bradley was present to respond to questions from the Commission, responded to comments made by the City Attorney, and requested the Commission postpone action, allowing for time to correct application deficiencies. Ebony Bradley Farr also responded to comments made by the City Attorney.
MOTION: Postpone to a date and time certain, that being October 22, 2024
