Village of De Soto Board of Trustees met July 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Acting President Eric Schuler called the second regular monthly meeting of the De Soto Village Board of Trustees to order at 7:04 P.M. Jana Fann was present to record the minutes.

Present:

Absent: 

Tony Rushing

Motion made by Jennifer Morgan, seconded by Brian Gleason, to dispense with the reading of the minutes and to approve them. Motion carried.

Motion made by Cristy Desormeaux, seconded by Rachel Alstat, to approve the June revenue report. Motion carried.

Motion made by Brian Gleason, seconded by Cristy Desormeaux, to pay the list of bills. Upon roll call vote: Brian Gleason – Yes; Fern Martin – Yes; Jennifer Morgan – Yes; Cristy Desormeaux – Yes; Rachel Alstat – Yes. Motion Carried.

Bill Cain, 101 Williams Road, wanted to know the status of Phase IV Water Project. Eric Schuler stated the project was moving slowly and that we still must put it out for bid.

Trash contract with Republic Services ends in September 2024. Fern Martin to research other companies for comparisons.

Eric Schuler expressed concerns with the postal system and the community about not receiving their water bills in proper time. The new customer letter has been updated with a signature line and citing Village Ordinance Chapter 38-2-1(F). The One Call System can be used to notify, about a week out, that water bills are due on the 15th of the month and to use Facebook to announce the information.

Eric Schuler said that he had attended an ADA compliant training course, and the board needs view information presented.

Cristy Desormeaux said that bids are due for the sidewalk project on August 1, 2024, and on August 5th bids will be open for the project. The De Soto Grade School is committing $5,600 to offset costs on the sidewalk project.

Motion made by Jennifer Morgan, seconded by Rachel Alstat, to adjourn meeting at 7:45 P.M. Motion carried.
