VII. NEW BUSINESS

A. Approve An IDOT Request For Approval Of Change Of Plans For The West Block Of The Downtown Revitalization Project, Not To Exceed $137,455

While the far West Main portion of the project was always intended to be part of the Downtown Revitalization Project, IDOT approval had not been received at the time bids were collected for the remainder of the Downtown. This change order would include the area west from the building where NAPA is located to Washington Street on the South side of the Route 72. This project required additional review by IDOT because the parkway area needed to be widened to accommodate the installation of new lights. The lights are currently in the middle of the sidewalks in this portion of the downtown. This modification will not impact parking. The cost of this portion of the project has been included in estimates for the project since the beginning and is in line with estimates provided for the overall project in the past.

B. Award A Bid To Marc Kresmery Construction, LLC For The Well 5 Iron Filter Rehabilitation, Not To Exceed $299, 915 And Authorize The Mayor To Execute An Agreement With Marc Kresmery Construction, LLC For The Well 5 Iron Filter Rehabilitation

This project was budgeted for in Fiscal Year 2024-2025 within the Enterprise (water and sewer) Fund. As previously discussed with the City Council, this filter is a fundamental component of one of the City’s wells and is in need of rehabilitation. Bids were collected and came in significantly lower than estimates provided. Work for this project will be completed over 90 days.
