City of Genoa Wastewater Treatment Committee met June 26.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Nick Bradac called the June 26, 2024 City of Genoa Wastewater Treatment Committee Meeting to order at 6:15 PM.

On roll call, members Nick Bradac and Walter Stage were present; Administrator Alyssa Seguss, Finance Director Janis Tures, and Public Works Director Lucas Smtih were also present as well as Stephen Dennison from EEI.

Old Business:

Nick Bradac made a motion to approve the March 20, 2024 Special Wastewater Treatment Committee Meeting minutes, seconded by Alderman Stage. All members present voted aye.

New Business:

A. Presentation from Stephen Dennison of Engineering Enterprises, Inc. (EEI) regarding the importance of a master plan: Mr. Dennison gave an overview of what a master plan is. There was also a conversation regarding the City’s remaining capacity as it relates to the need to evaluate obtaining additional wastewater capacity. Different options for increasing capacity were discussed in general. Mr. Dennison reviewed a cost estimate that included both a water rate study and without a water rate study. The WTC Committee discussed that at the next meeting, they will further analyze the master plan proposal and make a formal recommendation to the City Council whether or not to move forward.

Motion to Adjourn:

Nick Bradac made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 PM, seconded by Alderman Stage. Upon voice vote, all members present voted aye.
