State Representative Paul Jacobs (R-Pomona) has announced the commencement of his annual summer reading program for incoming first through fourth-grade students in the 118th State Representative district.

"As your 118th district State Representative, I want to invite first through fourth graders to participate in my 2024 “Get in the Game” Summer Reading Club,” Jacobs said. “This is one of my favorite events to host each year. I encourage everyone, not just kids, to read more books and enjoy the wealth of literature available at our school and public libraries.”

The program encourages students to read at least eight books over the summer. Participants will receive an official Illinois House of Representatives Certificate of Recognition and two tickets (one for the reader, one for a parent/guardian) to a Thrillville Thrillbillies baseball game at Mountain Dew Park in Marion in July 2024 for a special “Night at the Ballpark” event celebrating summer readers.

Details about this event will be forwarded to participants and their parents or guardians upon receipt of completed reading forms. Completed forms can be submitted to Rep. Jacobs’ Marion District Office located at 600 N. Halfway Road, Suite 103; Marion, IL 62959.

Students and parents with any questions may call Rep. Jacobs’ office at (618) 559-7018 or email Jacobs@ILHouseGOP.org. The deadline to submit completed forms is close of business on Friday, June 28, 2024.

The online form can be found at https://reppauljacobs.com/rep-jacobs-summer-reading-program.
