High school seniors in Illinois have until March 1st to submit their applications for the Illinois Conservation Foundation's 2024 Conservation Achievement Scholarship. The scholarship aims to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards to protect and improve the state's natural resources.
According to the Illinois Conservation Foundation, the scholarship program awards up to four one-time scholarships of $2,000 each to deserving students who have shown a deep commitment to the preservation, protection, and promotion of Illinois' environment. Since its inception in 2005, the Conservation Achievement Scholarship has recognized individuals who have dedicated themselves to environmental causes.
The foundation expressed gratitude to the various organizations and individuals whose donations have made the scholarships possible, stating that a total of $174,000 has been distributed among 85 scholarship recipients over the years.
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be Illinois residents and seniors in an Illinois high school during the year they apply. This opportunity not only provides financial support but also recognizes and rewards the efforts of young leaders who are actively contributing to the conservation and sustainability of Illinois' natural resources.
As the deadline approaches, interested students are encouraged to visit the Illinois Conservation Foundation's website to learn more about the scholarship and to submit their applications before March 1st.
