This bid for the downtown project includes removal of the old street lights, burying of the electrical cable behind the curb, installing a brick ribbon of pavers at the back of the curb where the electrical cable was buried, and installation of new streetlights. Two additional bids will be let for the project which include closure of Emmett Street and the stamped concrete crosswalks, with current estimates still within budget. Earlier this year, feedback was received from both residents and downtown businesses with approximately 80% of residents and 93% of downtown businesses in favor of the downtown revitalization project.
