Williamson County Board of Commissioners met March 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Williamson County Board of Commissioners met Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 1:15 p.m. at the Williamson County Administrative Building Boardroom, Marion, Illinois, in a meeting of the Williamson County Board of Commissioners with the following members present:

Tim Atkisson, Chairman

Jim Marlo, Commissioner

Jim Rasor, Commissioner

Discussion had on GATA Response Plan of Action. The board is in agreement to hire and appoint an internal auditor. Commissioner Atkisson and Treasurer, Ashley Gott, will create a letter to respond to the GATA plan of Action.

Motion made by Jim Marlo and seconded by Jim Rasor, to create an internal auditor position. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.

Discussion with State’s Attorney, Ted Hampson, about phone lines being up and running in his office. James Mayer, Mayer Networks, and State’s Attorney will set up and have a meeting next week.

ARPA claims for Herrin House of Hope, City of Herrin, Johnston City and Village of Pittsburg were all signed off on.

Motion made by Jim Rasor and seconded by Jim Marlo to adjourn meeting. Roll call vote was taken as follows: Tim Atkisson, Yea; Jim Marlo, Yea; Jim Rasor, Yea. All members present voting Yea; motion carried.
