Friess encourages business leaders to attend business development seminar

In an April 14 Facebook post, Rep. David Friess (R-Red Bud) announced a business development seminar in Red Bud.

“If you or anyone you know owns a business, I encourage you to call my district office at 618-282-7284 to register for this event,” he wrote. “You can find full information at the link below.”

In his Facebook post, Friess shared the link to his official House website that has more information. 

"On April 27th and 28th, I will be hosting my annual Business Development Seminar for business owners, entrepreneurs, start-ups, and administrators at Southwest Illinois College’s Red Bud Campus. If you, or anyone you know, owns a small business and would like to take part in this event, registration is still open! I encourage you to be there. For questions/registration, call Cathy at my district office at 618-282-7284 or email at DistrictDirector115@gmail.com. Full information below."

The event will be held on April 27 and 28 at 500 W S 4th St. in Red Bud. The event will be held from 3 - 7 p.m. both days.

The event will feature  sessions on grant/loan application processes, private funding road maps, HR hiring and retention, how tourism impacts your business, regional economic development, enterprise zone funding, and maximizing your brand. These sessions are presented by the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, the Small Business Development Center, Job Services, Illinois Workforce Development, Regions Bank, Southwest Illinois College, and Monroe County EDC.

Friess is a resident of Red Bud and has lived in Illinois for most of his life. He was an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force, and later for Delta Airlines in Atlanta, Ga. He represents the 115th District. Friess sits on the Adoption & Child Welfare, Revenue & Finance, and Higher Education committees.
